Datafisher LMS Release: Enhanced Reporting, Event and Content Sync, and Flexible Manager Handling
We are excited to announce the latest updates to the Datafisher LMS, which includes upgrades to reporting, event and content synchronisation, and multiple manager configuration. These features are designed to ease compliance and annual training reporting, support cross-platform LMS operations, and offer better flexibility for matrix organizations and organizations having internal and external users in the same LMS.
1. Reporting improvements
To support organizations in annual training time reporting, we’ve introduced the following improvements:
- We have made small adjustments to training duration field formats in Excel reporting to make annual reporting and summary reports easier. In addition, the previous Session Time field is now hidden to reduce confusion.
- We have added icons indicating the type of content (e.g., single, learning path/bundle, event, etc.) to the reporting menu. Now it is easier to select the correct training type. Significant contents always appear in the reporting content list, even when part of a learning path.
- We have added the training type and also the user’s full name to excel reports to get summary reports out of the system easier. The new fields, training_type and user_name (“Last Name + First Name”), help in Pivot reports.
2. Event and Content Synchronization Between LMS Instances
Organizations using multiple LMS environments can now synchronize event-based contents between different Datafisher LMS sites and remote SCORM packages in third parties LMSs. If you are interested in utilizing these features, please contact your Datafisher Customer Service Manager. These new features might require additional fees. The new features include:
- Event Syncronization
- For those using several Datafisher LMS sites now you can publish the same event in the different sites. For example, now external users can enroll to the same events as internal users.
- Super admins can import events from the source LMS site to the other LMS site, while regular admins can manage the synced events once added.
- Enrollments are controlled by the source LMS site.
- Availability checks are made in real-time from the source LMS site.
- Decoupled Functionality: Assignments, attendance, and reporting are handled independently in each LMS site.
- Trainers and contacts are now included in synchronization logic.
- Remote SCORM Package functionality (Proxy Package)
- We have also made it possible for our LMS users to publish remote SCORM packages in 3rd party LMSs.
- The Super admin can upload a remote SCORM package, and it can be used in the 3rd party LMS as long as the original SCORM is saved and active in your Datafisher LMS.
- We have also made it possible for our LMS users to publish remote SCORM packages in 3rd party LMSs.
3. Flexible Manager Handling (for Matrix Organizations and when having external and internal users in the same LMS)
We have made improvements to multiple manager handling for matrix organizations and External Company Admin / Manager functionalities. The external users’ feature is available in the advance reporting package. External Company Admins/Managers have now improved reporting, reminder message and user’s role management possibilities.
We now support multiple managers per user, better suited for your complex organization structures:
- Multi-Manager Support: Users can have multiple managersdefined via various properties (not just manager_uid or manager_email).
- Updated Notifications: All managers receive relevant notifications (e.g., event approvals). Workflow notifications still default to first managerunless otherwise configured.
- Updated User Interface & Permissions: Manager views, approval flows, and team status pages have been updated. Delegation and “My Organization – only managers” options fully supported.
- For external users, admins can now be assigned by Company Admins/Managers via System-List option in the company list.
